Goris (Գորիս) is a town in the Syunik Province in southern Armenia. Located in the valley of the Goris River. It is 254 kms (158 m) southeast of Yerevan and 67 kms (42 m) from the provincial capital Kapan. As of the 2022 census, it had a population of 17,113. The town has an average elevation of 1,385 m (4,544 ft) above sea level and has cold snowy winters and warm summers. The economy of Goris is mainly based on light industry such as food processing plants. Goris is an important educational center in Syunik. It has 7 kindergartens, 7 secondary schools, 2 intermediate colleges, a state university, 2 sports schools, 2 music schools and 1 art school. Goris is also home to the Goris Kh. Yeritsyan State Agricultural College.
This project was proposed by the teaching staff of the Goris Agricultural University. To renovate one of the university's auditoriums as an educational, developing, motivating loft like beautiful functional environment. The existence of which will promote the development of young students' skills and employment.
Project #209: Cost $10,850: In 2024 the University of Agriculture’s Lecture Hall was renovated by FOA by replacing door, windows, flooring, light fixtures, Receptacles, switches, wall and ceiling painting. In memory of Vahe Kazar.
