Charentsavan (Չարենցավան) is a town in the Kotayk Province of Armenia. It is located about 24 mi (38 km) north of the capital Yerevan on the left side of Hrazdan River. It was founded in 1947 as Lusavan, and renamed in 1967 after the renowned Armenian poet Yeghishe Charents. 70% of the entire area of Charentsavan is industrial zone occupied by several industrial plants.The population of Charentsavan is about 18,000.

The town has a palace of culture located at the central Karen Demirchyan Square, a school of art named after Jean Carzou, serving more than 600 children, 5 public schools, a State College, and state-owned Medical Center with a capacity of 300 beds.

Project #8; Cost $6,500: In 1999, FOA financed for the installation of a new heating boiler at the School #4 in Charentsavan.

Project #6; Cost $4,300: In 1998, FOA financed for rebuilding the roof and renovating the auditorium in a magnet school in Charentsavan.
