Nalbandian (Նալբանդյան; formerly Shahriar), is a major village in the Armavir district of Armenia not far from the border of Turkey. It is named after poet Mikael Nalbandian. The population is about 5000.

FOA funded and completed couple of projects in the city of Nalbandian in phases. See the project list and pictures below. THE TOTAL COST IS $9,252.

Project #62; Cost $1,198: In 2016, FOA provided 50 new beds for the children of Nalbandian Kindergarten.

Project #49A; Cost $8,054: In 2012, FOA financed for the renovation of the Kindergarten for the replacement of the doors and windows, and for interior work. The community provided the costs of additional materials and all the labor.

The work was finished after several long delays in 2013, and the opening was attended by FOA’s representative Sergey in Armenia. However, due to budgetary issues the kindergarten stayed closed until 2018. FOA raised the issue to the Armavir governor, and with his help the kindergarten re-opened and started functioning.
