Vanadzor (Վանաձոր) is the third largest city in Armenia, and is the capital of Lori Province; in the northern part of the country. It is located about 128 km (80 mi) north of the capital Yerevan, and 64 km (40 mi) east of Gyumri. Vanadzor is located in the valley of Pambak River, on the point where the rivers of Tandzur and Vanadzor join the Pambak river. It’s at an average of 1,350 m (4,430 ft) above sea level. The population is approximately 82,200.

FOA funded and completed many projects in the city of Vanadzor in many phases. See the project list and pictures below. THE TOTAL COST IS $293,047. This total doesn’t include other Vanadzor projects posted separately.

ZIZERNAG jambar Food/supplies

Project #19; Cost $200,775: From 2006 to 2019. This is an ongoing project for the cost of food for about 1,500 youngsters that attend the camp every summer by rotating to different groups of children every two weeks for everyone to get a chance to enjoy the camp.

ZIZERNAG jambar Construction/renovation

Project #187; Cost $8,215: In 2022, FOA purchased 25 Bunk Beds and 50 Mattresses for Zizernag Jambar. The project was coordinated by Lusine Azoyan in Yerevan.

Project #77; Cost $12,000: In 2017, FOA renovated the laundry facilities and added showers for the campers in Zizernag camp in Vanadzor.

Project #76; Cost $5,000 & Project #70; Cost $10,000: In 2016, FOA completed internal repairs and additional renovation in the Zizernag camp. Almost after every season the facilities need some type of minor repairs.

Project #11A; Cost $9,000: In 2004, FOA renovated the Guest Building of the Zizernag camp.

Project #11; Cost $26,347: In 2001, FOA completed the furnishings to Zizernag camp in Vanadzor, Armenia; by providing bunk beds, furniture, kitchen equipment, and supplies.

Project #54; Cost $3,200: In 2015, FOA funded the cost for the conversion of fuel system of the Van to both natural gas and gasoline in order to save money for the transportation.

Project #35; Cost $13,060: In 2009, FOA purchased a 2008 Ford 12-passenger Van to be used for Zizernag camp projects, as well as other FOA projects when needed.
